Open House Cork

About Open House Cork

Open House is a simple but powerful concept, showcasing outstanding architecture for all to experience, completely for free. Open House initiatives invite everyone to explore and understand the value of a well-designed built environment. The event is non-profit, funded by donations and is run primarily by volunteers.

Stemming from the success of similar festivals around the world, Open House Cork is a weekend of free building visits, lectures, children's activities and student projects engaging with the general public, providing a memorable experience of what good architecture is and of the ways in which it might be a force for cultural, social and economic good.

What's Involved

We are delighted to announce Open House Cork will be taking place on the weekend of the 4th October to the 6th October 2019.

Open House is a design festival which runs in cities across the world, celebrating the best architecture each city has to offer, and we were very excited to bring the event to Cork for a third time and to have so many celebrate with us by taking part!

Our series of talks, tours and exhibitions held in buildings all over the city showcased the rich and varying architecture of Cork, with all events being completely free.

Tasks will include:

Welcome the public,
Give them information,
Monitor the crowd/manage the queues,
