About Focus Ireland-Sligo
Focus Ireland is driven by the fundamental belief that homelessness is wrong.
Wrong because it is a failure of society that creates victims out of ordinary people and robs them of their potential. Wrong because it can be prevented, it can be solved but is allowed to continue and in doing so, undermines society.
Focus Ireland believes that everyone has the right to a place they can call home.
Focus Ireland has provided homeless services in the Sligo and the North West for the last 12 years. However, the rate of homelessness in Sligo is increasing at an alarming rate and Focus Ireland since January 2020 alone have already supported 292 local people through their many services available. In order to continue to provide these services we need your help.
We are looking for volunteers to host a Christmas Jumper Day in their workplace/community/sports club/office or in any location where they have a group of people who will participate. This can be done on a once off date that suits the organiser.
This is a really easy way to make a difference to the homeless crisis . It really just involves having a donation box out at any gathering or even your coffee/lunch break, even the Christmas jumpers aren't absolutely essential! You can do this any time before Christmas or even in the new year.
