About Ballyphehane Day Centre for the Elderly
To provide nursing care, an outlet for the socially isolated and to provide a break for carers of frail elderly relatives. We aim to provide a warm and caring day center for our clients, and stimulate them through the arts and social interaction.
What's Involved
Volunteers are required to play music and/or sing, do story telling for elderly day care clients. To create a good atmosphere, and have good knowledge of and ability to play Irish traditional music, to encourage the elderly clients to join in, dance and sing for up to 2 hours.
What's required for this position
Musical and instrumental ability, confidence to play and/or sing to people. Knowledge of Traditional Irish music.
